Getting started

Three steps to your first visit

Everything happens online, and every visit is by secure video.
  1. 1

    Choose how to book

Using insurance? Book through Alma or Headway, whichever lists your plan. Paying directly? Send a self-pay request or call (914) 916-6376.

  2. 2

    Get ready for your visit

Gather your insurance card (if you’re using insurance), a list of your medications, and your treatment history. Plan to be somewhere private. See the checklist.

  3. 3

    Meet Jessica by video

Your first visit is a full psychiatric evaluation. You leave with a clearer picture of next steps, and Jessica follows up with you by video from there.

Before your visit

What to have ready

A little preparation helps your first visit go smoothly.
  • Your insurance card

If you are using insurance, keep your card or plan details handy when you book and at your visit.

  • Your current medications

A list of what you take now, plus any medications you have tried before and how they worked for you.

  • Your treatment history

Any past diagnoses, therapy, or psychiatric care. Rough dates are fine.

  • A private space and a device

A quiet spot where you can talk openly, and a phone, tablet, or computer with a camera, a microphone, and a steady internet connection.

Your first appointment

What happens at your evaluation

This is your first session with us, and it's all about you. We take time to learn about your history, current concerns, symptoms, lifestyle, and goals. This comprehensive assessment helps us clearly understand what you're experiencing and create a personalized treatment plan that truly fits your needs, not a one-size-fits-all approach.

What you’ll talk about

  • What brings you in
  • Your current concerns and symptoms
  • Relevant medical and mental health history
  • Lifestyle factors
  • Any goals you have for treatment

Intake appointments booked through Alma are 45 minutes, by video.

Self-pay: $400

In Jessica’s words

“I know starting therapy or psychiatric care can feel intimidating, so I approach each session with compassion, curiosity, and openness.”

“If medication management is appropriate, we will discuss options thoughtfully, including benefits, risks, and your comfort level with treatment. I believe clients should feel informed and actively involved in decisions about their care.”

What you’ll leave with

A clearer understanding of possible next steps, initial treatment goals, and practical strategies or recommendations to begin working toward feeling better.

More about the psychiatric evaluation

After your first visit

Ongoing care, at your pace

Jessica meets with you regularly by video to monitor your progress, make adjustments, and provide continuous support.

Follow-up visits

Follow-Up & Medication Management

Self-pay $300 for 45 min, $100 for 15 min

Care doesn't stop after the first visit. During follow-up appointments, we check in on your progress, talk about how you're feeling, and monitor how your treatment plan is working. If medication is part of your care, we carefully manage and adjust it when needed to ensure it's safe, effective, and supporting your overall well-being. These sessions help keep your care on track and give you ongoing professional support.

More about medication management

Medication is optional

That's okay. Medication is optional. We can explore therapy, lifestyle changes, or other non-medication approaches.

Support in every visit

Many Psych NPs offer medication management and brief therapeutic interventions. I will provide supportive therapy during our sessions and may refer you to a therapist if needed.

Supportive therapy

Ages and guardians

Adolescents 15 and older, adults, and older adults

Booking for a teen aged 15 to 17? Call (914) 916-6376 with any questions about how a parent or guardian takes part in booking and consent.

Our text-message program is for people 18 and older, so a parent or guardian opts in for patients under 18.
